Ao Longo do Caminho (Along the Path)

English Version Along the Path

There are always two ways. Choices for each situation. Some seem more reasonable and easy to follow, other less coherent and more difficult. There are roads and shortcuts. They teach us something. A few more gentle, mild, others more brutal and incisive. What matters is learning along the way. Learn to save us from obstacles that would not be necessary and confront those who are established in the way we choose.
The decision is always difficult, and should always be taken with caution. Like all things in life. Caution, security, confidence and certainty. Least amount of order to be doing the right thing.
Choose your journey, and remember, always choose which bridge to cross and which to burn along the path.

Arrumando o Guarda-Roupas (Organizing the Wardrobe)

Englis Version Organizing the Wardrobe

Who has never enjoyed those idle moments when we start setting things up in the house, and always end up by organizing our dear and beloved wardrobe?!

Last week I relived this experience and I can tell you some things I learned philosophizing while I bended or put each piece of clothing on its hanger.

Have you noticed that our memory is like a wardrobe, always there, archived, ready to be reorganized and cleaned?

There are several types of pieces of clothing. Those which are very old, like our memories that needed to be rediscovered and revived.

When we find them again, we feel very happy and put them back better tidy, in a more strategic location not to forget them anymore.

There are those pieces of clothing that we do not know the reason why they are still there, as they no longer match us, and immediately we decided to take them out of the closet.

There are others for which we have great affection, but we know that if we move them forward, they will make other people happy.

There are several kinds of surprises in a simple arrangement of wardrobe. As in life, as well as in our memory, the important thing is to organize, store and distribute what is good to us, pass on a bit of happiness and throw away what is worthless.

Good week to all and good housekeeping!

No Monte das Oliveiras (On the Mount of Olives)

Torna o fraco forte. O descrente: crente. O devedor: credor. A escuridão: luz.

English Version On the Mount of Olives

Who is that knocking at the door of my heart? Gentle, comforting, calm, serene, dignified, lovely.

Who is He that comforts me during all the difficult times which I find, who collects the dry leaves from the ground, waters them and makes them colored again? From black and white, He makes the rainbow, from death, He makes life and from music, He makes the silence.

He comes gentle as a lamb, even being the most ferocious wolf to my enemies and criminals. Not full of gold, but wherever He goes, He shines the more adjacent, symmetrical and shiny light ever.

He makes the weak, strong. The unbeliever, believer. The debtor, creditor. The dark, light.

Who is He that did not appear in the list of my best friends, but is waiting at the door outside to enter my heart, without becoming annoying; in difficult times, He is always the one there to comfort me.

Who is He that Galileo Galilei, Rene Descartes, Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein and many other philosophers and sages have never questioned His existence, even at their most vain philosophies and on their most intelligent science.

He turns my being, completes my existence and teaches me the true meaning of the word ‘love’. Love to the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, so that, one day, everyone on Earth feel themselves welcomed and loved by His presence, which became so important in my life.

Beloved Father, perfect Father, warm, fair, please, walk always beside me. So I keep my days in this life, seeing light where there is darkness, love where there is hate, faith where there is disbelief and life where there is nothing.

As pequenas coisas (The Little Things)

English Version The Little Things

What is happiness? Where it is? For some people, it is shaped in great things and great events, momentary and fast. Lapse of joy, balance for sorrow. For other people, it is in the simplest things, routine moments, childlike smile, and mother’s kiss. Constant and simple moments, blanket in winter, unexpected laughter, chocolate ice cream.

It does not matter what is the definition in the dictionary, nor that great definition quoted by your favorite writer. It is subjective, it is personal and it is up to each of us to define it, find it. Do not try to find it in the future, tomorrow, meet and dine with it every day, personify it and date with it, every day of your life. Sunny day, rainy day, cloudy day, warm day, cold day. Find it everywhere and at all times, in every gesture and in all things.

It does not matter if it seems distant or unreachable; it is there, waiting to be enjoyed, without questions, without foresight, without pretension. Get more, live longer, smile more and walk more side by side with that feeling that builds and constructs. They are the little things, are not they? Have a good week.

Atrás da Porta (Behind The Door)

English version Behind the Door

Imagine we all have a locked way door and we open it from time to time. We are the only one who knows what is behind it and we do not tell anyone. For more friendly, loving and sweet that person is. Sometimes, we open it, walking hidden through our history and our dreams that have not been materialized, we stay on the other side watching every step we did not conclude or every mistake we do not want to publish or make known. What are the size, model, color and lock of your door? Big? Small? Black, white or metallic, bronze? Glittery gold?

It doesn’t matter what color, what value, what size you give to the hiding behind the door. There is no problem; we all love to visit this hiding from time to time.

There, on the other side, with the door closed, we remember, educate ourselves and provide us with ideas that help us to move forward.

It's part of life, to have the door with a lock and key, and not to share it with anyone else, because after all, secrets are like that.

No Looking Back (Sem Olhar para trás)

Abaixe a cabeça e chore o luto.

English

There are days which could be erased from the calendar. The disappointment caused by the end of a friendship, the sadness caused by the death of a dream, a fight we lost, the cake which burned, the dress that unstitched in the middle of the party, the engagement which got to an end and the lost faith in human beings.

There are days that could be elected national holidays. The friend who returns, the joy of the beginning of a dream, the fight we won, the cake that comes out fluffy, soft and warm from the oven; the dress which creates a Princess in a party; the engagement ring; the faith which we gain in God.
Life is full of surprises, it is a gift we want and we receive unintentionally. Secret Santa.

If today the door is closed and your glass is half full, sit beside me and share this meal with your columnist. Lower your head and cry of mourning, at the time it is needed, at your time, at the time you will be the only one to know how to measure and dose.

There is a time for everything, laughing and crying, winning and losing, finishing and restarting, hitting and missing, and there is a time to move on and not to look back.

Goodbye Amy

English

There it goes a talent. There it goes an impressive voice. What really matters here is not to create more controversy to the great little Amy.

I'm not sure if what killed her were drugs, alcohol abuse, abstinence from all such substances, depression or a broken heart. Among so many possibilities that come out and get together, I would like to choose the last option.

A broken heart decays and frightens us, pushing us to fear. Now it's time for parents, family and fans to have their hearts broken, living their lives sadly for awhile, until the longing comes with an abstinence dying to hear a new song, get news in a tabloid.

Death always arrives by surprise. And it came as a surprise to Amy as well. I didn’t get tired of observing that the newspapers and TV did not stop mourning the news about her death. Where were those who criticized her? I think they got quiet, a little guiltily, typical of human beings, a little proud to say, “Haven’t I sad that would be the end?” The end? I do not know. I think this is just a great start.

I could write numerous controversial and worrying about the Jewish girl with a stunning voice who lived in Camden Town, London; but I’d rather keep the silence, and the consciousness that only it brings, and before I get back to the world without Amy, I still need to go back to black. I am going to cry the grief of a talent and pay tribute to the human being Amy Winehouse, with all the faults she may carry along inside the enormous package of qualities that only a few had the privilege of knowing.
